Character Masks Workshop

In this one-day workshop, you'll have the unique opportunity to select a hand-crafted felt mask made by Douglas Thompson and personalise it through painting, making it a distinctive character mask and theatre prop. With Douglas's 20 years of experience in crafting and performing with masks, you'll gain invaluable insights into the art of mask-making. The morning session is dedicated to the creative process, where you'll paint your mask, infusing it with your artistic vision. In the afternoon, the focus shifts to performance. Douglas will guide you through the techniques of bringing your mask to life on stage, ensuring the process is straightforward and accessible. This hands-on approach will equip you with the skills to use your mask effectively in performances, enhancing your theatrical expression in a fun and engaging manner. By the end of the workshop, you'll not only leave with a unique piece of art but also the practical know-how to use it in various performance settings, thanks to Douglas Thompson's expertise and personal guidance.
