This is Ellis and for his second painting in oil he did a self portrait. I have to say he does look much younger than he portrays himself but he's mixed some good colour with regard to his skin. At first he was all a bit too pink so I showed him a Lucien Freud book I have in the library here and he picked some useful lessons up pretty quickly. He finished it last night in the Thursday painting class I run. His partner Diane attends the class with Ellis and I'll post some of her results soon. Thanks to them both for coming back repeatedly. It's a nice atmosphere on Thursday nights.

Diana finished her version of Picasso's Two Women Running on a Beach today in the morning and afternoon pay-as-you-go painting classes at North Yorks Art School, Scarborough.
