Join Award-winning artist Elisha Enfield (Sky Arts Landscape Artist of the Year 2022, Landscape Prize winner at The Discerning Eye) for a one-day landscape painting workshop in the stunning setting of Scarborough's South Bay. This workshop is designed to help you simplify, refine, and convey the atmosphere of a landscape in oils. Plein air painting isn’t just about replicating what you see—it’s about evoking a feeling. Through a combination of demonstration, hands-on painting, and individual feedback, Elisha, known for her evocative exploration of human rituals and memory, will guide you as you explore: ● Selecting and simplifying a strong composition ● Editing the scene—what to keep, move, or remove for clarity and impact ● Capturing atmosphere—using colour and light to evoke a sense of place ● Using expressive brushwork and layering to enhance mood and structure This relaxed, exploratory workshop is perfect for artists of all levels looking to build confidence in plein air painting, while learning to shape both form and feeling in their landscapes. About Elisha Drawing from stories of fire and funerary rites, and the landscapes that hold them, Elisha Enfield’s paintings explore the macabre beauty of shared rituals that traverse joy, reverence, and loss. Weaving together memory and myth, her work reflects on how places are shaped by layers of history, revealing the fragile boundary between presence and absence—and evoking moments where the past lingers just beneath the surface. Elisha studied painting at the University of Brighton, graduating in 2011. Her recent achievements include selection for the BEEP Painting Biennial, John Ruskin Prize, and Jackson’s Art Prize. Her work is held in public and private collections worldwide. Please note a 5% cancellation fee will apply to cover bank and administration charges. Cancelations within 4 weeks of the event will not be refunded, however bookaclass.org will look to reschedule you onto a future bookaclass.org event. This option is at the discretion of bookaclass.org. Your Right to Cancel If you are a customer living in the United Kingdom or the European Union you have the right to cancel your contract to purchase services from us within 14 days of purchase without giving notice. The cancellation period will end 14 days from the date of purchase when you purchased a service.
