Garth is an experienced art tutor and working together with North Yorks Art School is pleased to be able to offer a day of painting with his popular oil painting workshops. Each workshop follows a theme around a particular location and having a full-day enables artists the opportunity to produce a detailed landscape painting in the impressionist tradition. The day will start with a demo showing the methods used by the impressionists. We will then do a preparatory sketch on location around the grounds of Henshaws to be followed by lunch and then back out to complete our paintings plein air. Won't it be cold and rainy? Quite possibly. After all, Knaresborough is not the South of France! If the weather is bad, we will retreat to the studio to produce a step-by-step landscape painting using Garth's unique style based around that morning's sketches.
